5 poems in one

People pleaser:

Knees
already bleeding
yet I still
push them to the gravel

To make you happy

Bent
over backwards
use my belly as a table
eat my heart out

To keep you satisfied

Acrobat
contorted to
fit your needs
Go ahead and take the bow

To push you higher

I'll take the back seat
I'll take the punch
I'll take the pain
simply because it seems

You asked nicely and said "please"

Let me go:

My heart clenches
and the blackness wells up,
threatening to overflow
You should let me go

A carnivore awakens
in the the abyss of my soul
emerging from the mountain-ash
Hear it howl -Let me go

Don't:
pour lead into my soul
and ash into my heart

hold my dreams down
with expectations
curb my imagination
with logic

for me prepare
a neat little box
four walls
and a lid on top

Love goes wasted
it never stood a Chance

Say my name:

Call it once
and I'll come to you

Call it twice
and I'll run to you

And if you say it softly
I promise I won't ever
let go of you

Circus:

You made me what I have become,
childlike mind forced to run

Despite my years,
still so young
And the fight
 has just begun

This is a mess
I used to be so innocent
but now you have seen
the darker side of me

You may rat me out
I'll join the circus underground

Making of the project:

Final project:

Broach 3: please be-leaf that your beautiful

This one was hardest to make of all of them, I used coffee filter paper, cutting it up into the shape of rose petals and started twisting it around a short piece of wire, starting with small ones first. After adding each petal I used a piece of tape to secure it. After a while I started to stick the bottom half of the petals through the wire. At the end I just curled around the tips, added the green leafs at the bottom and tied a green ribbon to it that says "please be-leaf that your beautiful."

Like all the others inspired by the double meaning "be-leaf/believe." For example, please be-leaf that your beautiful.

Broach 2: ek hert jou leaf

It was interesting making this one, bit harder too. I used a thin piece of metal and scratched out the patterns of a leaf, cut it out and pasted it on another piece that I wrote "Ek het jou leaf" on. This is actually much more complicated than it seems, I had to re-do it once or twice.

This one was also inspired by the double meaning  you can from with with the word "leaf/lief". For example, ek het jou leaf. Aswel as my english cousin who gave me a leave and said "ek het jou leaf."

Broach 1: please never leaf me

I really enjoyed making this, the material is almost like a rubber clay, very light when it drys. It comes in different colors and is very fun to play with, the only challenge is smoothing it out.

My inspiration was the helicopter leaf, as well as the double meanings one can form with the word "leaf/leave". For example, don't ever leaf me.

I made the leafs in the shape of wings as a double meaning metaphor. The one being an angel (like the person you love, the one you don't want to ever leave you). And the other one being freedom and the ability to leave, to simply fly away, because someone who stays means nothing if they can't leave in the first place.

emotion design

This was the first project for design and I really enjoyed making it even though it gave everyone including myself a bit of a fright. I had so many things to carry when I was packing up my art,  I carried the project with my finger and when it got stuck. When I tried to get it out, my hand slipped and I accidentally punctured my radial artery.

The "feel" of the project, is hurt, a lot of people thought it was hate or anger, which actually works perfectly, because that's how I feel when I'm hurt. I only worked with cold, dark and reflective colors, cause when I'm hurt, I seem dark and cold, but really I'm only reflecting how I have been treated.

I used lots of sharp objects to show the defensive emotion but at the same time like a explosion in your head because your keeping it all inside. You seem cold but really it's just your way of protecting your self and to hide how much it's actually tearing you apart, and how much you care.

I used knives, porcupine quills, tooth picks, a plastic bowl, glue gun, pieces of mirror, broken glass from a car window, beads, paper mace, a piece of plastic pipe, a tiny fountain pump, tinfoil, black waterproof paint and my blood.
The blood was not part of the design from the start, but with the incident, I decided to add it, or rather, leave it.
